SELLING TIPS
Seller Quick Tips & Pricing Guidelines

The prices of your items are up to you. Here are a few general guidelines on pricing based on experience:
  - Please only bring items in great shape. Be objective … Would you buy that? Would you pay that? Please look over each item carefully.
- Items priced at approximately one-fourth of the original cost generally sell the best.
- In general, the lower you price your items, the more likely they will sell.   Take into account the brand, age and condition of the item when you are pricing them.
- Items in great condition generally go for 20-40% of their original retail price—clothing usually goes for slightly less depending on the brand (ex. if you paid $12 for a new shirt, a reasonable price would be anywhere from $2.40- $4.00).
- As you price merchandise, ask yourself: "How much would I be willing to pay for this?"
- Popular name brand items such Pyrex, Lenox, and Fiesta, Coach . . .  could possibly bring in one-third of the original price.
- Sometimes lowering the price by a dollar makes a difference in a sale.
- Consider the age and condition of the item before pricing.
Clothing Tips:
  - Wash all clothes you are planning to sell. They should be ready to wear—stain-free, zippers work, all buttons secure . . .
- For toys with small parts, place parts in a clear or zip-top bag, tape the bag closed with packing tape, and tape the bag to the corresponding larger pieces to reduce the chances of misplaced parts.
- Hats, socks, onesies, and similar items can be placed in clear or zip-top bags.
- Baby carriers can be put on pant hangers to display better.
- Sort clothes by gender and size in advance. Consignors who are well organized before arriving enjoy a quicker and smoother drop-off experience.
- Furniture and equipment prices are usually priced 20-40% of the original price
- For onesies, sleep'n plays, sleepsacks, shirts, pants, etc...you can hang 3 or more together and price as one item. For example, it can be 4 onesies for $3.
- For infant receiving blankets, towels, bibs, socks, etc...again, put at least 2-3 together in a large clear or ziploc bag (to help keep them clean) and tape your Consignment Tag to the outside of the bag. Also, tape the top of the bag so no one can open the bag and remove items.
